Are you affiliated with Northeastern University?

No, we are students at Northeastern University however we have created this website on our own and are not affiliated with Northeastern University or its Advisors. Coopratings.com is not affiliated with any academic institutions.

What is the purpose of CoopRatings?

We have been through the process before; we're simply trying to take some of the guesswork out of the whole experience. We have experienced the need for true knowledge about a job before accepting a position. We created this website for the purpose of allowing all of us to share our collective knowledge of all the coop jobs out there. Coopratings.com provides students with the ability to research their coop/internship opportunity and evaluate it on a number of metrics before applying, interviewing or accepting a position. 

How do I use this website to evaluate a coop Job?

You can use this website in two ways. You can browse through the reviews to gain a better understanding of coop jobs before you apply/interview or accept a particular job.  Or you can add your own coop to make others aware of how good or bad a job was.

What does CoopRatings do with my ratings?

We will use the information you provide to effectively share experiences with other coop students and potential candidates for a coop job. The personal information you provide us is held confidentially and will not be shared with any third party as per our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Over time as data is accumulated we will be releasing a variety of analytic tools

How do I keep my identity secret on CoopRatings.com?

Your personal information will remain 100% private and will not be used anywhere on the website. This site is will only succeed if total anonymity is maintained. When registering, be sure to sign up a Username that cannot be connected to you, i.e. darthvader27 or TomSmith34 (only if your name isn't Tom Smith). NOTE: it is important that you understand that the "Name" Field is never displayed publicly, but the "Username" is. See our confidentiality clause in the Privacy Policy

Technical FAQ

How do I post a review?

1.       Click the Tab "Rate a COOP." (If you have not yet registered, you will be prompted to do so)
2.       The following is a list of explanations of each Rating category:
3.       Click submit after filling out all the fields
4.       If you get an error, it is most likely because you didn't fill out one of the fields above, check out and see if you missed one and try to submit again. If for some reason you cannot submit, please contact us through the contact us page and let us know where you had issues.

How do I edit a review?

Find your review amongst the different reviews for a position and click [EDIT YOUR REVIEW] in the top right corner of the actual review. From there you are able to edit all aspects of your review.

I found an offensive rating, who can I contact?

Click on the link on the bottom right hand side that states "Report this review" and let us know why you found this offensive, our moderators will immediately review the rating to see if it contains offensive material or violates our Terms of Service. Thanks for helping us keep our coop rating community safe!

I'm having technical difficulties with the website, who can I contact?

We're students, so we will try to get back to your questions as soon as possible!
